Until Next Time - またね!

I know it may come as a surprise, but after 6 years the time has come for bnr34gt-r.com to publish its final post.

I started this blog as a way to make sense of the hundreds of photos on my phone and document my journey as a GT-R owner. Never in my mind I would have ever thought that hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world would bother to stop by and read it, but to my surprise it actually happened. What started as a car blog eventually turned into a bit of a life diary; the epilogue of the story of a 80’s kid with a passion for Gran Turismo who, in an incredible turn of events, ended up living in Japan the rest of his life. Writing it has been fun, challenging and at times even therapeutic.

So why stopping now? Truth is that I’ve been thinking about it for a few months and eventually came to the conclusion that, after over half a decade, it’s time to embark on new endeavors. Blogging is potentially an endless commitment and there is nothing more I would hate than seeing this site receive sporadic, half-hearted updates just to slowly fall into decay.

A hobby has true purpose when it transcends the hobby itself. Thanks to this platform I have met people and made new friends that I’m regularly in touch with - that’s more than I could ever ask for. A big “thank you” goes to all of you who have stopped by to read or leave a comment. If this blog was informative, entertaining or has inspired you in the slightest to pursue your passions, then I have achieved my goal.

Is this decision final? Likely yes, and I do apologize in advance to the regular readers. But never say never, if things will ever change I’ll make sure you’ll know.

So what’s next? While no new posts will be published, feel free to reach out with a comment here. I am always open to chat or help a fellow GT-R enthusiast, but please just note that I do not sell cars, parts or work as a liaison with Nismo, Omori Factory or other dealers.

Thank you again for stopping along the journey, it’s been a honor.

Until next time...

Ale

Thanks for stopping by - wow, talk about timing uh? I am always surprised to hear about new people finding the blog and reading through it.

It wasn’t an easy decision, but 6 years is quite a bit of time to pour into something and I just felt it was time.

  7. Hi Ale,

Very sad to see you go. Even worse to see your FB page go too. You had such a positive life journey with your GTR. I understand you don't want to post anything new. But can you still share your past journey. It was wonderful as a fan reliving them.

  8. Hi Sillig,

Thanks for the nice words and sorry for my late reply. I know, but besides photos of my car, the blog also contained other people’s names, cars, places that I was allowed to photograph under special circumstances, etc., and it didn’t feel right to leave it out there while I’m not curating them anymore.
I get your point, I’ve been there, looking up for interesting content on the internet as a kid and the disappointment in finding out it had been taken down…but the most important thing is to focus on your own journey, just like I did! : )
    Happy driving!
    Ale

Sad to see the blog go, but everything comes to an end eventually.
