A New Record

32,000,000 Yen: that’s what the delivery mileage and virtually brand new BNR34 V-spec II Nür auctioned for just hours ago via BH Auction at the 2018 edition of the Tokyo Auto Salon, setting an all time record for a standard Skyline GT-R.

Too much? Silly? Difficult to comment and put a price tag on a car that is surely one of a kind. With 10km on the odometer, this is most likely the one and only “as new” Nür in the world.

It goes without saying that it’s very unlikely that the new owner will add any more mileage. Unfortunately cars in this condition are seen as nothing more than a investment opportunities or museum pieces, which is difficult to argue with considering that this car was sold 16 years ago for 6,100,000 Yen.

Difficult not wonder what a model like this would go for in 10 years from now. Numbers aside, the car, finished in QM1 White, looks stunning: this is what a brand new BNR34 would have looked like in the early 2000s.

Congratulations to the new owner for acquiring what is certainly a piece of Japanese automotive history.

Looking forward to visiting Tokyo Auto Salon this weekend!

Until next time.
